Games: Franklin: Bumpy Buggy Race-Off
Bumpy Buggy Race-Off was the first of three games I was assigned to develop for Franklin (the other two were Pipe-O-Plunker and Here Gecko Gecko). The object of the game is to pick one of six buggies, and win the race by hitting power ups while avoiding obstacles.
The target audience of this game is children as young as three years-old, so the game couldn't be too difficult. At the same time, we wanted to keep the game interesting for older kids. This was achieved by programming the opponent to adapt to the player, so that the race was always close.
Bumpy Buggy Race-Off features 3D artwork, voice overs by real Franklin voice actors, as well as many different bonus tricks that can be done in the air. The game can be played live on Treehouse's game section.
