Sick/Personal Days & No Shows

Changing a shift to a Sick Day
Changing a shift to a Sick Day.
Missed shifts in Manager's Advantage can occur before or after a schedule has been published. For example a staff member who has booked a vacation usually does so before the schedule has been distributed, and as such that information can be placed in the staff editor.

What happens when a shift is cancelled after the schedule has been created? For example if someone called in sick, it would not have been possible to enter that information in their availability before the scheduled was published.

The way to keep track of these changes is to change the shift name on the schedule to Sick, Personal Day or any other name. A Sick shift does not have a start or finish time, so that when you change the shift to sick the shift times will remain the same as before.

If you want the employee to be paid for the sick day, do not alter the shift times. On the other hand, you can delete the shift start and end times if you don't want it to count towards hours worked.

If someone worked half their shift and left early because they were sick, you can change the end time for the original shift to when they left and then create a new "Sick" shift that takes place during the rest of the day.

All missed shifts will be shown in Reports regardless of whether they were entered under staff availability or via the method described here.

Note: You can create your own missed shifts other than the ones provided by Manager's Manager. All you have to do is create a shift in the Shift Editor without a start and finish time.
